Linda Smith showed us how to create a damp environment for moisture-loving plants. She gave us practical ideas about making a water-retentive bed, and what plants would thrive for a varied display year round, in sun or shade. She was unable to bring any actual plants to show or sell, as the below-freezing weather meant all her plants were locked up in half an inch or more of ice. Still, a practical and interesting talk from a grower who knows her subject inside out, and has six consecutive Chelsea gold medals to back it up.
