Two Gardens in Oxfordshire

 Dalesford Slade Farm, Kingham OX7 6TF & Kingham Hill House OX7 6TE

Coach Outing         £45.00     Non-member £48.00

We are priviledged to be invited to view this large garden. Although there are substantial distances to be walked, there is a buggy if help is needed. (We may need to swap places!)
Magnificent landscape grounds created 1790 for Warren Hastings, greatly restored and enhanced by the present owners Lord and Lady Bamford. Lakeside and woodland walks within natural wild flower meadows. Large walled garden planted formally, centred around orchid, peach and working glasshouses. Trellised rose garden. Collection of citrus within period orangery. Secret garden with pavilion and formal pools. Garden Designer Rupert Golby is very much involved. NB: No beveridges here.
We shall stop at a local Pub for lunch.
In the afternoon we drive a short distance to Kingham Hill House. Blending into the Cotswold countryside, the layout of this 6 acre walled garden was designed some 20 years ago by Rosemary Verey and has been brought into the 21st century by Rupert Golby, an eminent local garden designer. At its peak in June, we are fortunate to be offered a tour by Mr Golby, highlighting its main features. For detailed description search the Country Life article (Kingham Hill House a Verey masterpiece). Tea will be served here after the tour.
